A frustrating gusty session. Very little wind on arrival 11am but I rigged the 5.2 anyway since I thought it would soon be getting windier. I was underpowered for the first hour or so but the wind did fill in eventually leaving me well powered. However by now the tide (and ++shorebreak) was coming up, which combined with a lack of wind on the inside due to the very slightly cross-off direction meant that lauching was difficult and sailing on the outside was becoming a bit lumpy, although the waves were quite good. And then whilst trying to launch through the no-wind shorebreak zone a rogue wave got me and ripped a seam in one of the panels of my 5.2...grrr... :( So I had to call it quits at 1.30pm.

I'm coming to the conclusion that neither Shoreham nor Lancing are ever much fun in low-tide neaps, as the water doesn't back far enough off the groynes for long enough to make launching hassle-free. Worthing would probably have been a better bet for today.
